ASUS ROG PHONE 5- Hands-On, First Impressions and Detailed Review

 The brand new gaming beast is here. Yes, I am talking about the brand new ASUS ROG Phone 5. It got some great specification and some unique features.

The brand ASUS ROG Phone 5 comes with a box that contains 1 Unit of ASUS ROG Phone 5, 1 Unit of 30W Fast charger, 1 unit of hardback case which is made up of polycarbonate, 1 Unit of SIM ejection tool, 1 Unit of warranty card and 1 Unit of Start-Up Guide. 

Physical Look, Ports and Buttons-

This phone is quite heavy but it feels super premium to hold it. It weighs around 242g without any sort of back case. It is covered with Gorilla Glass Victous from the front as well as from the backside. On the right side of the device, you will get 2 Dual Air-Triggers (On on the top of and the other on the bottom), Volume Up and Down Buttons and Power On/Off Button. On the left side, you will get USB Type-C charging port, a Connector for all the external accessories and a SIM tray slot. SIM tray slot is a Dual-Nano SIM card slot. At the bottom side of the device, you will get a 3.5mm Headphone Jack and USB Type-C Charging Port.

Display and Operating System-

The display of this phone is one of the best Displays available in the market right now. It has got huge 6.78 Inches FHD+ Super AMOLED Display. It has also got the Super Fast Refresh Rate of 144Hz with a touch-sampling rate of 300Hz which gives you the one-sided advantage while playing FPS games.

Is comes with the operating system of ROG UI which is based on ANDROID 11. It is one of the most protected, safe and clean user faces. It has got so much customisation which improves your user experience and takes it to excellent.

Processor and connectivity-

ASUS ROG Phone 5 comes with the brand new and the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor. It is the First Smartphone in India which is launched on this processor. It is based on 5nm based technology and gives you an AnTuTU Benchmark score of around 8,70,000. This phone is excellent in your daily tasks such as calling, messaging or watching any type of content but it is also excellent at the apps which require high performance. You can easily play Call Of Duty Mobile, FORTNITE, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile or any other games which required High Graphics. You can play up to the highest setting of graphics in any games you like.

It is a future-ready smartphone, it supports 5G internet and also has 16 bands of 5G. It also supports Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 6, Dual Band Wi-Fi and Dual 4G VoLTE.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 comes with a huge battery of 6000mAh which can last up to 2 days on normal usage and on heavy usage it can last up to 1 whole day. You can also do continuous gaming up to 7 Hours 30 Minutes when your device is 100% charged. To charge this big battery you will get 30W Fast The charger which is provided in the box. It will charge the whole battery in 1 Hour and 30 Minutes. The device also supports 65W of super-fast charging which charges the whole battery in less than 1hours.

  

Camera and Features of Camera App

Though ASUS ROG Phone 5 is a gaming device through ASUS has provided a great camera set-up. You will get a triple camera set-up at the rear side. It comes with 48MP Primary Sensor, 13MP Ultra-Wide Angle Sensor and 5MP Macro Sensor. For your beautiful selfies, you will get a 24MP Selfie camera.

You get decent camera features in the camera app of ASUS ROG Phone 5. You will not get some extraordinary features but some common features are available.

 

Some Special Features-

ASUS ROG Phone 5 has got two Dual-Air Triggers so that you can use them as buttons in any game. The User Interface of this device allows you to customise things in the way you want. In the variant of 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM, you will get a logo of ROG at the back which can be customised and you can change colours if it. In the variant of 16GB RAM you will get a black and which template at the back of ROG. The ultimate variant of 18GB RAM comes with a secondary screen at the back which allows you to showcase anything you want.

 

Storage Type and Variants, Security, Colours, and Price-

ASUS ROG Phone 5 comes with a RAM type of LPDDR5 and ROM type of UFS 3.1. There are four RAM variants 8GB, 12GB, 16GB and 18GB. Yes, you read right this device also comes with 18GB RAM. There are three ROM variant 128GB, 256GB, 512GB.

For your biometric security, you will get In-Display Finger-Print Scanner which is very accurate and fast. It has also got Face Unlock which is also quite accurate and fast.

There are two common but beautiful colour black and white.

The price of 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM is INR 49,999. 12GB RAM and 256GB ROM are priced at INR 57,999. The variant of 16GB RAM and 512GB ROM is priced at INR 69,999 and the variant of 18GB RAM and 512GB ROM is priced at INR 79,999.

My Personal Review-

This phone got the best specifications at a great price. If you are a gamer this is the best for you. You will never regret buying this device. If you are not a gamer then this phone offers you great things in this price range. This is the best in everything. You can do whatever you want to at the highest graphics.
